no more monkeys

Brooklyn had her 2 month Dr. visit today, even though she's almost 3 months. She weighed 12 pounds exactly and is 24 1/2 inches long. They didn't tell me the percentiles on that at the appointment so I looked them up and it's 28th for weight and 76th for height. I thought she was pretty long because her 3 month old jammies are short on her but she seems so petite otherwise. Basically the doc just reaffirmed that she's perfect, and I was happy with that. He also said that she was supporting her head very well for this stage which obviously means that she's super intelligent.

In the last couple weeks she's become fascinated with her hands. She likes to stare at them. I'm guessing she's contemplating all of the amazing genius things she's going to accomplish with them someday.  She laughs a lot in her sleep but is still trying to figure out how to when she's awake. Or maybe our jokes just aren't funny.

On a much sadder note, I have to give up chocolate, or rather I'm choosing to because I think it gives B a tummy ache which leads to much crying which is super heartbreaking for me. Why chocolate though? Why not broccoli or something (although that is one of my favorite veggies). The things you do as a mother...
