Brooklyn has been watching Jungle Book 2 on Netflix a lot lately. As a result she's been running around in her skivvies, pretending to be mowgli. Because we're at my parents house for a few days this is not as acceptable as when it's just me and the kids alone all day. So I made her a little outfit so she could be Shanti (the girl) instead. I made a little elastic waist maxi skirt with some fabric that I remember picking out when i was about 12 and just recently found. Looked liked something someone who lives in a jungle might wear. And it was purple just like on the movie, which is all B cared about. Then she insisted on having a shirt like the girl, so I found an old burp cloth downstairs and just sewed up the sides half way and cut a hole in the top. Simple shirt, done. Works for now at least! And no more nakey 3 year olds. Problem solved.
She's all about the details. Even found a circle sticker and put it on her forehead.

I can hear her song from the end of the first movie, "I am going to fetch some water..." in Travis' voice as apparently she's his favorite character, too. He used to sing that A LOT =) Tell Brooklyn to teach Tate the joy of dress-up, it's so cute!

So funny. So I'm pretty sure I have fabric JUST like that at my mom's that I picked out when I was like 12 and we never made anything with it. Haha - just made me laugh!
