This summer while we were in Pendleton,
my Grandpa Morgan (my mother's father) came to visit.
I was really happy that we were going to be there at the same time.
He had only seen Brooklyn two times before and had not yet met Taylor.
Growing up,
we saw my mom's parents once a year during the summer.
We would drive the 16 hours to Colorado where they lived and stay a week.
He's a Navy man, and was an Engineer in the Forest Service.
He had high hopes that I would follow the same route but that didn't quite happen :)
We still have a special bond despite that fact.
While he was visiting we were able to have almost all of his great-grandkids over for some homemade ice cream! We were only missing one family who live in Michigan.
We made sure to get a picture.
Of course my kids weren't cooperating very well but we got one!
The Brown's graciously let us use their cabin for a nice relaxing day on the lake.
Brooklyn loved wearing a life jacket (at all times, upon my insistence).
A little note about names here- My Grandpa is Bruce Morgan. My middle name is Morgan and I passed down the name for Brooklyn's middle name. My Aunt's each did that with one of their children and those cousins have done that with their children. Kind of cool. If it makes sense :)
This is the only picture I have with Mister and Grandpa :(
Brooklyn got to go on the canoe with Seth
And feed the ducks
Mister struggled at times having to be held so that he didn't jump in.
Having fun exploring with Sister
Before he left I wanted to make sure I had a good picture with my grandpa
I also wanted to make sure I got one of him and my mom
(horrible lighting, my bad. Black and white it is then.)
And the three of us
I just love family and am grateful we got to have a nice visit!
