Memorial Weekend

This is me trying once again to be better at blogging!
I'm actually really impressed with myself this weekend. Not only did I actually remember to take pictures I'm posting them within a couple days!

We were not planning on being in Pendleton this weekend but Seth had a big project he needed to focus on so away we went.

We kicked the weekend off on Saturday with Erica's golden birthday party!
She turned 25 on the 25th and put together a super fun fiesta.

Uncle Kelsey needed help getting their lawn ready so he enlisted Brooklyn's help. She got to drive his truck on the dirt road AND steer the riding lawn mower. She was in heaven! He took the most hilarious video of her basically spinning cookies on their lawn. Driving in a million circles. So hilar.

Then Taylor wanted to drive when we got out there. We left the engine off.

They have the cutest hammock that B loves to swing in

My gorgeous girl!

The highlight of the night for the kids was definitely the pinata. Here's B helping the birthday girl hang it up.

Brooklyn loved the pinata and insisted on being blindfolded every time. Then she would stand in basically the same spot and very earnestly try to whack it.

Mister on the other hand, turned into a complete psycho! Oh my goodness it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. So sad I didn't get a good straight on shot of his face, and these photos are mostly blurry, but you'll get the idea. He would get a running start and charge like he was defending his life and liberty with the most intense look on his face and swing that stick like a warrior, then run around and do it all again.
Right after he hit it the first time he screamed " I LOVE PLAYING BASEBALL!"
Ridiculous.

On Monday Papa needed a tool from Aunt Debbie's house so we volunteered to go get it. She lives out of town on a farm and I knew the kids would love it!

They had a ton of goats, lots of babies and mamas. Uncle Curtis caught one for us to pet!

Then we discovered my cousin Travis and his two little girls out running around in one of the fields. Mister was all about the wide open spaces. He decided to take off and not look back and disappeared about a quarter mile away. So that was fun to go sprinting after him while pregnant. How do little kids have so much energy?! Little rascal.

They got to pet a horse and ride around in a wagon and play on the swing set and then it was time to feed the chickens!
They obviously had a BLAST. Next time we need to think ahead and set up a time to ride horses. They were not happy when it was time to go back to get back in the car. It's still my dream to one day live on a small farm.

Monday afternoon we had a yummy BBQ with the Stoddards and B got to play with her buddies Tate and Avery. Then we went and visited the cemeteries where my Grandma Edwards and little brother Taylor are buried.

I hadn't been to their grave sites in awhile. I'm glad we went. My parents and siblings were all in one spot so we took a picture.
This October will be 21 years since he passed away. That is just crazy to me. I still remember so much about him and miss him. But I know with my whole being that families can be together forever. Living without that knowledge I think would be absolutely unbearable. It is still hard, but there is so much to look forward to! And it really keeps me on track knowing where he is and having the goal to live faithfully so that we can all be reunited.

So happy we were able to have a fun filled and reflective weekend!
Just what we needed.
